Main Questions Asked:

  • What do you mean by FINE to FAB?
  • What are the 7 Secrets to FAB?
  • How can we get to the deep-rooted beliefs that are creating self-sabotage?
  • What is Neuro-Associative Programming? Can you give us a real example of a session?

Key Points made by Lisa:

  • FINE is how I used to feel: F’ed up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional to Fabulous, Awesome, Beautiful.
  • The first step for FAB is acknowledging fear and doubt. A lot of us, in the past, might know there’s something wrong but they don’t want to own it.
  • People have a lot of different things where we do things to feel familiar but not necessarily good or moving forward. Or having a lot of reasons on where we want to be but never being there.
  • The second is taking inventory of my lessons and beliefs.
  • The premise is that 55% of our beliefs were formed by the time we are 5 years old. So you’re not even making your decisions, 45% were formed by you.  The challenge with that is some of these beliefs might not even serve you.
  • The word in the middle of belief is lie and these are the lies we tell ourselves. It all becomes our choice but taking inventory of what those lessons and beliefs are is critical in moving forward because a lot of time we’re working automatically and don’t even realize it.
  • Think of how many adults in business are required to talk to people and they don’t feel comfortable doing so. Where did this belief come from that they can’t talk to strangers?
  • A lot of the self-talk is the reason. Realize that our unconscious doesn’t know the difference between fact and fiction.
  • Whatever you’re complaining about the most is usually where your beliefs are lying.
  • During a 10-week transformational program that I do, we literally go through people’s model of the world. That’s where the Neuro -Associative Program comes in. If we could program our computer to do what people do, why can’t we program people to do what other successful people do?
  • Every session is different. I had one client who came to me more because of her daughter.
  • She came to me to help with her daughter but when I got to know her, I realized that the problem wasn’t with her daughter, it was within mom.
  • We had to start breaking through some of the toxic meanings of emotions which is Number 3 in what we do and finding out where some of this stuff came from.
  • When we take something off our plate, we have to put something better back on – something that’s better and more fulfilling.
  • It doesn’t have to be 1-2-3 or done in any specific order. It’s just the fact of somebody being in a position of not being happy, they’re looking for more.
  • I think today there are a lot of people who choose not to be happy and use that as their means or escape or their excuse for not being where they want to be.
  • A lot of the work we do is not introspective of why something happened. I don’t have an interest in Why because the Why we have is our interpretation of the truth.  It might not even be the truth.
  • Understanding how our brain works, that’s where the Neuro-Associative comes in. Your brain works like a file cabinet.  It accesses everything you do.  It looks for ways to file things away.  It looks for what’s familiar. What you see in your experience is only the representation of what you believe is true.  It might not be what’s true.
  • It explains when you have siblings growing up in the same house and they’re very different but they grow up with the same experience.
  • Number 5 is uncovering unconscious patterns of behavior. The easiest way to do that is realizing our brain is like Freud’s Iceberg Model. Like the expression “It’s only the tip of the iceberg”.  People always see what’s on top, what’s visible, what’s happening, what people are doing
  • If you look to the Belief Tree, that is your foundation, what you do and why you do it. The trunk of the tree is your values of what’s important to you, your integrity, your truth, things that will actually drive you.  What’s in the tree itself are the fruits of your labor.  Realize that the unconscious patterns and behaviors are what’s driving the fruit and what’s coming off your tree.  So if you’re very successful, it’s because you’ve kept good roots.  If you’re not where you want to be, it’s because you’ve been feeding the wrong roots.
  • We have to literally eliminate the tree and plant some new ones, plant some new seeds that will give us a new result. That’s the only way it works.
  • The only thing that was wrong is I was listening to the wrong people and I needed to change the stories I was telling myself. When I did that, life changed.
  • The truth is that no one can fix anyone in that place. It’s the responsibility of the person who is holding these stories
  • Number 6 is to stop waiting for perfection. When you’re so focused on yourself, it has to be a certain way.
  • Take tons of imperfect action. Do it anyway.  Just do it!
  • Number 7 is making peace. This is the big one
  • Practicing gratitude is a big deal because most people are only going to be happy when….”I’ll be happy when I lose 20 pounds”, “I’ll be happy when I find the right mate”, “I’ll be happy when I make a million dollars” but it’s really reverse to what happens in the world.
