  • Why did you write the book Reclaim Your Energy and Feel Normal Again! Fixing the Root Cause of Your Fatigue with Natural Treatments?

Key Points made by Dr. Carri:

  • Functional Medicine is about finding and fixing the root cause of health problems.
  • Everything in your body is connected, and every patient is unique, even if they all suffer with the same problem: fatigue. There’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach to fixing fatigue!
  • Normal ranges on blood work are too broad. We use functional ranges to look for the ideal levels for health.
  • Even when the thyroid is low, the next question we ask is ‘why is your thyroid low’. Because if we can never figure out the ‘why’ we’re still only treating symptoms and not the root cause.
  • A weak thyroid can be caused by cortisol imbalance or progesterone deficiency.
  • Oftentimes, it’s the immune system that’s the root cause of the low thyroid, and this is why thyroid symptoms can come right back even after starting thyroid medications.
  • I wrote this book on fatigue because I’ve suffered with fatigue and cured myself.
  • Every fatigue sufferer has at least three nutrient deficiencies, and at least one hidden food sensitivity.
  • Fatigue that starts after pregnancy is often a red flag for Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.
  • The three most common nutrient deficiencies that cause fatigue are: vitamin D, B12, and magnesium.
  • Have a lot of hope – there is an answer to your fatigue. It may feel like finding a needle in a haystack, but your needle is there just waiting to be found.
