Main Questions Asked:

  • What if everything we were taught about eating, exercise, weight loss, and health was wrong?
  • Can you explain why our current model of weight loss is totally wrong? Should actually we be eating more and exercising less?
  • What are the three devastating dieting myths that have finally been replaced by science & clinical research?
  • What are six simple steps we can take now to start dropping extra pounds immediately & permanently?

Key Points made by Jonathan:

  • The harder we’ve tried, the fatter and sicker we’ve become. A long time ago, nobody knew what a gym was, didn’t count calories and so on, yet they were healthy.
  • The USDA basically says to eat less and exercise more to lose weight. That’s like telling someone who’s depressed to frown less and smile more.
  • Science says we absolutely need to heal our bodies. We need to provide it with an abundance of material so it can repair itself.
  • With exercise, we should be doing a deliberate amount of deliberate exercise.
  • More is not better.
  • Eating healthy cannot be hard. If it were, we’d have died off a long time ago.  It doesn’t require calorie counting or a PhD.
  • What healthy means to me: How did people eat prior to the obesity and diabetes epidemic?  How do cultures eat that don’t have obesity and diabetes?
  • Instead of plant vs. animal and high calorie vs. low calorie, how about high essential nutrition vs. low nutrition?
  • Diet Myth: Calorie counting is required to lose weight.
  • Calories were introduced in 1825 and most people, even in 1950, did not know what it was. Animals cannot count calories.  The body is designed to balance us out automatically.
  • Diet Myth: A calorie is a calorie.
  • Calories are not all the same in terms of what they do to your body or the nutrition it brings. They vary in how they fill you up, how they’re used in the body, the hormonal responses they trigger and the essential nutrients they provide you.
  • Diet Myth: Calories are all that matters.
  • Of course you will lose weight on 1200 calories per day but the issue is keeping the weight off. That’s not sustainable.  What matters is what calories do.
  • Shift away from the starvation mindset. Starvation doesn’t work – it’s not healthy and cannot heal your body.
  • Replace it with the idea of eating an abundance of healthy SANE food. Up your intake of non-starchy vegetables like green leafy veggies – everyday.
  • Trade exercise for sleep.  Sleep more!
