How Much Are Dietary Flaws Costing You Precious Energy?

Food can be your medicine, or it can be your poison.

Let’s make it your medicine!

You probably think it’s impossible to change your diet. I’m living proof that it’s not. You can do it. Trust me—if I can do it, so can you, especially if you follow my guidelines.

Here’s what most people eat that keeps them in fatigue:

  • too many carbs
  • too much sugar
  • not enough healthy fats
  • not enough protein and fiber
  • foods you are allergic or sensitive to (knowingly or unknowingly)

Here’s how most people eat that keeps them in fatigue:

  • eating a lousy breakfast or skipping breakfast altogether
  • skipping other meals

To get out of fatigue you need to:

  • stop the carbs
  • reduce sugar significantly
  • add in more healthy fats
  • eat enough protein
  • eat enough fiber
  • remove foods you are allergic or sensitive to
  • definitely eat a good breakfast
  • eat three meals a day plus two snacks
  • eat every two to three hours

I know, I know—this sounds near impossible. But it isn’t.

There is one diet that meets all of these guidelines and still lets you eat plenty of delicious foods. It’s the Paleo Diet.

The Paleo Diet

Now, I can’t take credit for the Paleo Diet. It’s the brainchild of Cordain, PhD. The Paleo Diet is basically eating like our ancestors did. Like a caveman.

fiberSee, we have modified and hybridized and frankensized our foods much faster than our bodies have been able to keep up with. Because of this, we are in general seeing more fatigue, hormonal problems, digestive problems, allergies, autoimmune disease, and more.

Remember when you were a kid? How many of the kids in your class had a peanut allergy? Or, any allergy to any food?

Today food allergy is so common that people think it’s normal—which it isn’t!

So the Paleo Diet helps get us back to the basic diet we ate long ago, before we started screwing up the food supply. It’s basically meat and fish (protein), veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, and healthy fats.

It does not contain wheat or other grains, gluten, sugar, dairy, legumes/beans, or unhealthy fats.

I know what you’re saying right now—“What the heck CAN I eat?”

Imagine your plate. Fill half with veggies. On the other half, fill one corner with protein (meat, fish)—about the size of your palm. In the area that remains, add a small serving of fruit, and a bit of healthy fat (avocado is a good choice, as are raw nuts). That is a Paleo plate.

The Paleo Diet is your perfect ticket out of food-choice-induced fatigue.

What I love about the Paleo Diet is that it removes all the stuff that promotes fatigue. Harmful inflammatory foods are gone: grains, dairy, and legumes. Most of the common food allergies are gone: wheat, gluten, dairy, and soy. And you get nutrients, antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fat.

Warning: I actually don’t recommend you jump headfirst into the Paleo Diet. Most people end up overwhelmed and quit within days. I don’t want you to be a quitter. I want you to be successful with this so you can fix your fatigue.
