Did you know that what you’re doing every day is probably making your fatigue worse?
What you eat and drink has a huge impact on your energy levels. So does stress, sleep, exercise, and something I like to call vitamin R—rest, relaxation, and recreation.
There are many things that are NOT in your control, but your lifestyle isn’t one of them.
Simple lifestyle changes may be your ticket to lasting energy. I’ve had some of the toughest cases of fatigue turn right around by applying simple lifestyle changes. It’s true!
You can spend buckets of money on testing, and buckets more on supplements, but if your lifestyle is crap, you will only get so far with your fatigue.
In Functional Medicine we want to do testing to find the cause of your fatigue, but then we need to make sure we build a strong foundation for health.
That foundation for lasting energy and health is your lifestyle:
- Diet
- Exercise
- Stress management
- Sleep
- Vitamin R.
I know what you’re thinking…
“Yeah, I know I should eat better.”
“Yeah, I know I should exercise more.”
Or you may be that person who says…
“These changes are too much…it’s too hard…I can’t do it.”
“I’m too tired to exercise. Plus my brain is mush by noon.”
And if you cannot sleep…
“How do you expect me to sleep better if I don’t get rid of these damn night sweats?”
You may think that what I’m suggesting is pie in the sky—too good to be true—because it’s such simple advice that it cannot possibly work.
But, it does.
Most every time.
With most every patient.
Are you really ready to get started? Are you really ready to fix your fatigue?
One more thing…
This can be very overwhelming; nobody likes to change. (Not even me!) So my suggestion for you is to just try it. Start today, and begin to master only one thing—whichever aspect of your lifestyle you want, whether diet, exercise, stress management, sleep, or vitamin R.
(But, I will tell you that what you put into your mouth will most likely have the biggest impact on how you feel.)
When you master one area of your lifestyle, then move on to another. Just take it step by step.
Consider this…
Let’s say you get only 10 percent better from each area of your lifestyle that you work on. You will not feel any different by making one or two changes. But do them all, and you are looking at a 50 percent improvement at least, and that you will feel.
Your long-term energy awaits!
Make a promise to yourself starting today:
Stop feeling lousy…rotten…awful…crummy…miserable…terrible…crappy.
Find a good Functional Medicine doctor to help you get to the root cause of your health problems.
Like I always say:
Find the cause.
Fix the cause.
